Oatmeal Fudgies

1 cup buttter- softened
2 Tb.butter- softened
2 cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
3 cups rolled oats- uncooked
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Preheat oven to 325
Lightly grease a 9x13 inch pan

With an electric mixer- cream the 1 cup butter and the brown sugar
Add the eggs and beat until light
Blend in the vanilla
In another bowl, stir together the flour and baking soda
Beat into the butter mixture
Stir in the rolled oats
Spread 3/4 of the flour/oat mixture into the prepared pan evenly

In a small heavy saucepan, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened
condensed milk and the remaining 2 TB buttter.
Stir over low heat until chocoate is melted
Pour the chocoate mixture evenly over the oat mixture in the pan
Dot with the remaining oat mixture

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are browned and the center
feels firm
Cool in the pan on a wire rack
When cool, cut into bars.
