Tomato Pudding
1 quart canned tomatoes
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 stick butter
2-3 Tbsp bacon drippings (give a little better flavor)
8 slices bread or more (I use white bread & wheatberry)
Breads can vary

Place all but bread into saucepan and bring to boil
Break bread into pieces and add to tomato mixture
Add extra bread until ALL or almost all liquid is absorbed
(A sweet vegetable)
